Memory Glass Announces New Alternative to Cremation Memorials - Now Loved Ones Can be Shared with Every Family Member
by Anonymous

Santa Barbara, CA, January 25, 2004--Memory Glass, a new company in the funeral industry, announces the launch of a unique cremation memorial product, developed in response to the demands of today’s discerning consumer. A Memory Glass is a hand-blown, glass keepsake that infuses minute amounts of human or pet ashes into a funerary art object. Memory Glass’ President, Nick Savage, and Vice-President, Loren Dion also introduced the Memory Glass website which allows customers nationwide to view, customize and order glass “Memories” online. (www.memoryglass.com)

“Memory Glass was developed to personalize traditional uses of cremated remains,” noted Mr. Savage. “By using only a small portion of the ashes in each glass sculpture, every family member can have a ‘memory,’ while still allowing the rest of the cremated remains to be buried or scattered in traditional ways.”

The first Memory Glass was made 5 years ago when a friend of Mr. Savage died in a river accident. A girlfriend of the deceased hit upon the idea of suspending a portion of ashes in glass sculptures. The elegant glass memorials proved to be powerful personal mementos for far-away relatives and friends who couldn’t attend the scattering ceremony. Mr. Savage elaborated on the Memory Glass “urn alternative,” pointing out that “the scattering of ashes is a useful ceremony for closure, but in time survivors yearn for something more tangible than just memories of the event. Our product preserves the loved one’s cremated remains as a visible part of the art.”
